Ingredients
Base
It has a dairy base, frequently whole milk
For 2 cups of milk
Texture
It thickens with egg yolks and/or corn starch, activating with heat (boiling) and when gets colder
- corn starch – 2-3 tablespoons
- egg yolks – 2-3 yolks
Flavor
- sugar – 1/2 cup
- salt – 1/4 teaspoon
- butter – 2 tablespoons
- vanilla, chocolate, fruits, essences, spices
Preparation
1.- Add, mix and heat gently until boil
- milk
- sugar
- salt
- corn starch
2.- Add the yolks previously tempered.
3.- Boil for 2 more minutes.
4.- Add flavors, butter, vanilla, chocolate. etc. at the end to preserve taste and aroma.
5.- Remove from heat and cover with plastic or add a thin layer of melted butter on top and then refrigerate.
